Introduction
AIChief ("AIChief," "we," "us," or "our") operates AIChief.com and the AIChief mobile application for Android and iOS (together, the "Service") — a curated and brand-safe AI tools directory built for professionals, educators, enterprises, and AI practitioners.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information when you access or interact with the Service. By using AIChief, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Our data practices are intentionally limited, transparent, and aligned with our role as an AI discovery platform. By using AIChief, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Where This Policy Applies
This Privacy Policy applies to all interactions with AIChief, whether you are browsing the site, using the AIChief mobile app on Android or iOS, submitting an AI tool, subscribing to updates, or engaging with us as a partner or advertiser.
The website and the mobile app share one account system and one backend. Where a practice applies only to the mobile app, it is called out explicitly below.
This policy does not apply to third-party websites, tools, or services that are linked from AIChief. Those platforms operate under their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Terms You Should Know
- Personal Data: Information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
- Usage Data: Technical and interaction data collected automatically during use of the Service.
- Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to support functionality and analytics.
- Service Providers: Third parties that assist us in operating the Service.
- You / User: Any individual or entity accessing or using AIChief.
Information We Collect
AIChief is designed to operate with minimal and purpose-driven data collection. We collect information only when necessary to operate the Service or respond to user-initiated interactions.
Information You Voluntarily Provide:
- Name (optional covers some cases)
- Email address
- Company or professional role (if provided)
- Message content or tool submission details
Information Collected Automatically:
- IP address, browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring and exit URLs
In the Mobile App Specifically:
- Account details — your email address and a securely hashed password, or, if you use Google Sign-In, the name, email address and profile picture your Google account returns.
- Email verification codes — a one-time code sent to your address to confirm you own it.
- Push notification token — an anonymous device identifier issued by Expo or Firebase Cloud Messaging, stored with the platform name ("android" or "ios") so we can deliver the alerts you opted into.
- Notification topic preferences — the AI tool and news categories you choose to follow.
- AI assistant messages — the questions you type into the in-app AI assistant, which are processed to generate an answer.
The mobile app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, calendar, call logs or SMS, and it contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. It does not track your activity across other apps or websites.
The AIChief Mobile App
The mobile app is a reader and discovery client for the same catalog published on AIChief.com. Three app features involve your data, and each is described here in full.
Sign-In and Google Sign-In
You can create an account with an email address and password, confirmed by a one-time code, or sign in with your Google account. Google Sign-In is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we receive only the name, email address and profile picture associated with that Google account, and never your Google password. An account is optional — you can browse tools, news and comparisons without one.
Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, your device is issued an anonymous push token which we store so we can send alerts about the tool and news categories you selected. The token identifies a device, not a person, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app's Account screen or in your device settings; turning them off deletes the stored token. Deleting your account deletes it too.
The In-App AI Assistant
The app includes an AI assistant that answers questions about AI tools using AIChief's own catalog and published articles. The questions you send are processed by a third-party large language model provider in order to generate a reply, and are used to produce that reply and to monitor for abuse — not to build an advertising profile of you. Answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete, so please verify anything important. Do not enter sensitive personal information, credentials or confidential material into the assistant. Each answer carries a report action you can use to flag output that is offensive or wrong.
Cookies & Tracking
Cookies are used for essential site functionality, preference storage, and aggregated analytics. AIChief does not use cookies for invasive cross-site tracking.
How We Use Information

- Respond to inquiries
- Deliver opt-in communications, including the push notifications you selected topics for in the mobile app
- Generate answers to the questions you send to the AI assistant
- Improve usability and content quality

- Comply with legal obligations
Third-Party Services We Rely On
We keep the list of processors deliberately short. Those that can receive personal data are:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Messaging) — powers Google Sign-In and push delivery in the mobile app.
- Expo — delivers push notifications to app installs that use an Expo push token.
- A large language model provider — processes the questions you send to the in-app AI assistant and the website's Ask AI feature in order to generate a reply.
- Our email provider — sends verification codes, password resets and any newsletter you opted into.
- Stripe and PayPal — process payments if you purchase a paid listing or product. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Our hosting and CDN providers — operate the infrastructure the Service runs on.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention
- Account data — kept while your account is open, and deleted when you delete it.
- Push tokens — kept until you disable notifications, uninstall the app, or delete your account.
- Notification preferences — kept while your account is open and deleted with it.
- Email verification codes — short-lived; they expire shortly after being issued.
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment and tax records, are retained for the period the law requires even after an account is deleted.
Deleting Your Account and Your Data
You can delete your AIChief account and its associated data at any time, and you do not need to contact us to do it.
From the mobile app
On the Home tab, tap your profile avatar to open Account, scroll to Delete Account, and confirm. The deletion takes effect immediately.
From the web
Visit aichief.com/delete-account for step-by-step instructions and to request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes your account record (including your email address, name and password), your notification topic preferences, and every push notification token registered to your account. This happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Content you chose to publish — for example an AI tool listing you submitted that is now live in the public directory — may remain in the directory, because it is editorial content about a product rather than personal information about you. If you want a published listing withdrawn as well, say so in your request and we will handle both together. Records we are required by law to retain, such as payment and tax records, are kept for the statutory period.
Children's Privacy
AIChief is intended for a general professional audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@aichief.com and we will delete it.
Security
All traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in a readable form. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate the Service. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@aichief.com immediately.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent you previously gave.
The fastest route to deletion is the in-app or web flow described under Deleting Your Account. For any other request, email privacy@aichief.com or support@aichief.com. We respond within 30 days and will not charge you or degrade your use of the Service for exercising a privacy right.
