Editorial Policy

From tool discovery to publishing, explore what happens before a tool is listed on AIChief. Quality, safety, and transparency drive every decision.

Our Standards

How We Evaluate

A structured, multi-step editorial process ensures that every AI tool listed meets clear standards for usefulness, safety, and legitimacy.

01

Safety & Relevance Screening

Every tool is screened for legitimacy, safety, and relevance before any further evaluation takes place.

02

Security & Transparency

We evaluate privacy policies, ownership disclosures, HTTPS enforcement, and compliance certifications.

03

Hands-On Testing

Our editors manually test tools in real-world scenarios to verify usability, reliability, and accuracy.

04

In-Depth Review

Independent editorial reviews document features, pricing, strengths, and limitations observed during evaluation.

05

Responsible Use Evaluation

We assess authentication flows, permission structures, and data retention clarity for professional standards.

06

Ongoing Link Monitoring

Listed tools are continuously monitored to ensure links remain active and don't redirect to compromised pages.

Discovery and Submission

AIChief continuously identifies new and noteworthy AI tools through independent research across the industry. We also accept submissions directly from developers, companies, and users who wish to have their tools considered.

Information provided during submissions is used solely to assess whether a tool meets our editorial scope and quality standards.

Initial Vetting (Safety and Relevance)

Once a tool is identified, it undergoes an initial screening. At this stage, we evaluate whether the tool aligns with AIChief's baseline criteria, including relevance, legitimacy, and safety. We filter out tools that contain adult or NSFW content, unsafe or misleading claims, scam activity, or duplicated spam.

Security and Transparency Screening

AIChief evaluates publicly available information regarding a tool's data practices and operational transparency. This includes reviewing privacy policies, terms of service, ownership disclosures, pricing transparency, and any stated compliance certifications (such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR alignment).

AIChief prioritizes tools hosted on secure HTTPS-enabled domains to ensure encrypted connections between users and tool websites. Listings that do not meet basic secure connection standards may be excluded from publication.

Hands-On Testing

Our editorial team manually tests tools that pass initial vetting. Testing is performed in real-world scenarios aligned with the tool's intended purpose, such as content creation, image generation, data analysis, automation, or other core functions.

During testing, we evaluate usability, reliability, feature accuracy, and whether the tool performs as described. This process is guided by human judgment and does not involve accessing private user data.

Responsible Use and Safeguard Evaluation

During testing, we also assess visible account safeguards and user control mechanisms, such as authentication flows, permission structures, and clarity around data retention or deletion options.

In-Depth Review and Documentation

Following hands-on testing, our team prepares an independent editorial review. Reviews document what the tool does, its primary use cases, pricing model, and notable strengths or limitations observed during evaluation.

Our goal is to provide clear, practical information that sets realistic expectations. Where applicable, we highlight constraints, trade-offs, or ideal usage scenarios so users can make informed decisions.

Security and Platform Integrity Standards

AIChief does not manage the internal security systems of listed tools. Our responsibility is editorial: we evaluate visible safeguards, transparency, and operational integrity before a tool is introduced to our audience.

We assess whether a tool demonstrates baseline professional standards, including:

  • Clear privacy and data usage disclosures
  • Transparent ownership and pricing information
  • Reasonable account protection mechanisms
  • No evidence of deceptive marketing or exaggerated claims
  • Responsiveness to publicly reported issues or vulnerabilities

Publication and Continuous Updates

Only tools that successfully complete all review stages are published on AIChief. Publication is not the final step — we continuously monitor listed tools and update reviews when products change materially.

Tools may be revised, flagged, or removed if they become outdated, no longer meet our standards, or fail to maintain quality over time.

Why You Can Trust AIChief

Through this review process, AIChief maintains an accurate, current, and trustworthy directory. Users can explore AI tools with confidence, knowing that each listing has been reviewed by human editors and selected based on quality, relevance, and safety — not automation or paid inclusion alone.
