What is Pixal3D?
Pixal3D is an AI-powered image-to-3D generation platform that converts 2D images into detailed 3D assets. It is designed around a pixel-aligned generation approach that explicitly lifts image features into a 3D feature volume, helping maintain a closer relationship between the original image and generated geometry.
Users can provide a single reference image or multiple views of an object, character, or scene. Pixal3D then generates 3D geometry and applies physically based rendering (PBR) textures before exporting the result as a GLB asset.
The platform is also designed for more complex workflows, including multi-view reconstruction and modular scene synthesis. Its latest open-source implementation uses the Trellis.2 backbone, while its research work focuses on improving visual fidelity and 2D-to-3D correspondence.
