Elon Musk Brings Grok-2 AI Chatbot to X – No Charge
Elon Musk introduces free access to the Grok-2 AI chatbot on X, offering faster performance, improved accuracy, and new features for users.

Elon Musk’s social media platform X is now offering free access to its new Grok-2 AI chatbot.
In a recent blog post, xAI, Musk’s AI venture, announced the rollout of this upgraded version, which promises to be three times faster than its predecessor, with improved accuracy, better instruction-following, and enhanced multilingual capabilities.
xAI blog post:
"Today we are excited to announce that we are beginning to roll out this new version of Grok-2 to all users on X for free. As always, Premium and Premium+ users get higher usage limits and will be the first to access any new capabilities in the future." Grok-2, which launched in August, has already introduced several helpful features such as web search, citations, and the image generator Aurora. Now, a new addition, the Grok button, appears on posts across the X timeline.
This feature allows users to dive deeper into trending discussions, explore relevant context, and understand real-time events, making it easier for users to engage with posts meaningfully.
"We believe this will help users better discover relevant content and gain insights into ongoing conversations," xAI added.
xAI has recently seen significant growth, with the company’s valuation soaring from $24 billion in the spring to $50 billion following a $5 billion funding round. Alongside its rapid expansion, Musk’s company is involved in a legal battle with OpenAI over its future as a for-profit entity.
As xAI continues to innovate, the Grok-2 rollout represents a critical step toward shaping the future of AI-powered interaction on social media, making the platform even more engaging for users worldwide.
