As Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 draws near, anticipation is building for the innovations Apple is set to unveil this year. From a comprehensive overhaul of Siri to new advancements in Apple Intelligence, there is much to look forward to.

The annual Worldwide Developers Conference is scheduled to commence today at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. For those keen to follow the proceedings, the event will be live-streamed across the Apple Developer app, Apple’s official website, and the Apple YouTube channel.

The most eagerly awaited announcement is a significant AI upgrade for Siri, poised to transform it into a more conversational assistant. This enhanced Siri is expected to comprehend context, manage multi-step tasks, and interact more naturally across various applications and services. The revamped assistant will reportedly leverage Google’s Gemini technology to bolster its capabilities.

Furthermore, recent leaks reported by Bloomberg suggest the potential introduction of a standalone Siri app, designed to compete with advanced AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple may also unveil a feature reminiscent of messaging applications, enabling users to schedule the automatic deletion of conversations after 30 days, a year, or to retain them indefinitely.

According to The Information, Apple intends to integrate an AI agent into the App Store. While specific details are sparse, these agents would empower users to delegate tasks such as booking reservations, managing daily routines, editing documents, or controlling smart home devices.

A new “Visual Intelligence” section is anticipated to debut within the Camera app, replacing the previous Visual Intelligence feature found in the Camera Control button. This upgrade will introduce a dedicated Siri mode, positioned alongside existing options like Photo, Video, Portrait, and Panorama. The Visual Intelligence feature will utilize Google Image Search to accurately identify objects captured by the user.

In addition, the Photos app is slated to receive exciting enhancements powered by Apple Intelligence. These may include intelligent scene recommendations for optimizing photos, automatic object removal for cleaner images, and an innovative AI photo editing feature that allows users to request edits simply by using natural language, alongside new productivity functionalities in visionOS.

Apple is also set to upgrade the Image Playground app, introducing higher-quality image generation, a wider array of artistic styles, improved character consistency, and richer editing controls. The interface for creating new images will be simplified, offering fewer controls and incorporating a “describe a change” option for editing.

Additionally, we might see a suggested Genmoji feature that proposes custom emojis based on users’ media and text interactions. Users could also gain the ability to generate AI-powered wallpapers reflecting diverse themes and moods.

Notable updates are rumored for the Wallet app, particularly a new bill-splitting feature designed to simplify expense sharing among friends or family. Users would be able to photograph a receipt and effortlessly generate payment requests to different parties.

Alongside this, the Wallet app is also expected to include a “Create a Pass” option, enabling users to generate digital passes from physical items such as movie tickets, concert passes, or gym membership cards.

Apple is anticipated to refine its AI-powered Siri experience across its device ecosystem, as well as likely incorporate additional AI features and stability updates.

It remains to be seen how many of these anticipated announcements will materialize, and whether the highly awaited Siri update will indeed fulfill expectations.
