Multiple media outlets have reported on a memo circulated earlier this year, which alleges that technology executive Alice Huang was recruited by China's Ministry of State Security to conduct espionage against Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

The New York Times, the first to break the story, reported that the memo was based on U.S. intelligence. The Financial Times followed with details indicating the memo also asserted that Jensen Huang had a romantic relationship with Alice Huang, who serves as an executive at the Singapore-based company Megaspeed.

In response to the allegations, an Nvidia spokesperson informed the NYT that Jensen Huang's interactions with Alice Huang were "not unusual." The spokesperson further stated that the company does not share classified information with its customers.

A separate investigation by the NYT examined New Matrix, a Chinese entity authorized by the U.S. Commerce Department to purchase advanced Nvidia chips. However, reporters found only "a hollow gray shell" at the listed office address, prompting concerns that it might serve as a front for a blacklisted private equity firm.

The Nvidia spokesperson reiterated that the company sells "the first, best and most of our technology in America."
