Two individuals have been apprehended following a shooting incident on Sunday morning outside the Russian Hill residence of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. This marks a second apparent attack targeting Altman's property, according to reports from The San Francisco Standard. The suspects face charges of negligent discharge, with a police report citing surveillance footage that reportedly shows a vehicle passenger firing a weapon towards Altman’s home.

This latest event follows a separate incident on Friday, where a 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at the same location. Investigations into both occurrences are currently active and ongoing.

San Francisco Police Department officers were dispatched to the Russian Hill area at approximately 2:56 AM PT on April 12th, responding to a report of "a suspicious occurrence of possible shots fired." Officers successfully apprehended two suspects after ascertaining that a vehicle, carrying two occupants, had passed the property around the time of the alleged shooting. A camera system captured the license plate of the departing vehicle. Subsequently, a search of the suspects' residence, where the 25-year-old and 23-year-old individuals were arrested, led to the discovery and seizure of three firearms.

San Francisco Police Chief Derrick Lew issued a statement addressing the incident, asserting, “The SFPD takes crimes involving guns extremely seriously, and anyone committing acts like these will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” He further commended the police efforts, adding, “I want to thank our officers whose swift actions identified these suspects, took them into custody, and got dangerous weapons off our streets.”
