Rox, an emerging startup dedicated to developing autonomous AI agents aimed at significantly boosting sales productivity, has reportedly achieved a valuation of $1.2 billion following its latest funding round, according to insights from multiple sources.

The recent capital injection featured a lead investment from General Catalyst, an existing backer of Rox, as confirmed by two individuals familiar with the transaction. Both Rox AI and General Catalyst opted not to provide comments when approached by TechCrunch for further details.

At the time of this fundraise, which concluded last year, RoxAI was projected to reach an impressive $8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by the close of 2025, information shared by two sources with knowledge of the deal.

This substantial valuation builds upon previous fundraising efforts. In November 2024, Rox announced it had collectively raised $50 million. This sum included a seed round spearheaded by Sequoia, followed by a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with additional participation from GV.

Rox was established in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee, formerly the chief growth officer at New Relic. Mukherjee’s tenure at New Relic commenced after the company acquired Pixie, an observability startup he had co-founded, highlighting his entrepreneurial background in advanced technology.

The startup positions itself as an intelligent revenue operating system, designed to seamlessly integrate with a company’s existing software infrastructure, from platforms like Salesforce to Zendesk. It then deploys hundreds of AI agents that actively monitor current accounts, conduct research on prospective clients, and meticulously update customer relationship management (CRM) systems. By consolidating these critical functions, Rox endeavors to streamline and replace the multitude of fragmented software solutions currently utilized by sales teams.

“Rox’s unique system of AI agents levels up the CRM experience. These agents work constantly behind the scenes to monitor customer activity, identify potential risks and opportunities, and even suggest the best course of action,” stated GV investor Dave Munichiello in a 2024 blog post, coinciding with the announcement of Rox’s Series A funding.

Rox operates within a dynamic competitive landscape, facing established revenue intelligence providers such as Gong and Clari, as well as AI sales development platforms including 11x and Artisan. Furthermore, the market is continually seeing the emergence of new AI-native, all-in-one CRM competitors, exemplified by Sam Blond’s new venture, Monaco, which recently emerged from stealth mode last month.

Prominent customers leveraging Rox’s solutions, as showcased on the company’s official website, include leading firms like Ramp, MongoDB, and New Relic.
