The innovative coding platform, Replit, has achieved a significant funding milestone. The company announced on Wednesday that it successfully secured $400 million in Series D funding, elevating its valuation to $9 billion. This round was spearheaded by existing investor Georgian Partners, with additional participation from prominent investors including G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures, and Databricks Ventures.
Founder and CEO Amjad Masad further disclosed in a post on X that notable angel investors Shaquille O’Neal and Jared Leto are also among the company's backers.
This latest investment round builds upon the startup’s previous achievement in September, when it reached a $3 billion valuation following a $250 million funding round. At that juncture, Replit had indicated it was on track to achieve $150 million in annualized revenue. While the company did not provide updated current Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) figures, it informed Forbes of its ambitious goal to reach $1 billion in ARR by the close of the current year.
Despite Replit's recent rapid ascent, Masad previously shared with TechCrunch that this success was the culmination of nine years of dedicated effort. This journey included a pivotal and initially contentious decision to shift its focus from professional developers to catering to non-programmers, a strategic move that ultimately allowed the company to discover its market fit.
