Adobe is set to revolutionize image editing with the public beta launch of its integrated chatbot feature for Photoshop, accessible across web and mobile platforms.
This week, Adobe unveiled an expansion of its agentic AI capabilities across Creative Cloud applications, empowering users to modify images and documents simply by describing desired changes to a conversational AI. A native AI assistant is now widely available in public beta for Photoshop on web and mobile, while select Adobe applications, including Acrobat and Express, are slated for direct integration within Microsoft’s Copilot service.
The AI Assistant within Photoshop for web and mobile, which previously underwent a private beta phase in October, is now accessible to a broader audience. Users can leverage this tool for a range of sophisticated edits, from removing distractions and altering backgrounds to refining lighting and adjusting colors. This public rollout builds upon the successful introduction of analogous AI assistants for Express and Acrobat. While this chatbot-like interface is not yet available for the full Photoshop desktop application, its eventual arrival is highly anticipated, especially given Adobe's announcement last April regarding the development of AI agents for both Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
"With AI Assistant in Photoshop, users can opt for the assistant to apply edits automatically or receive step-by-step guidance, fostering a learning experience," Adobe stated in its official press release. Emphasizing mobile convenience, the company added, "Within the Photoshop app, voice commands can be utilized to request desired edits, significantly simplifying on-the-go editing workflows."
For users preferring alternative AI platforms, Adobe is also facilitating access to its tools through other leading AI assistants. Express and Acrobat are soon to be accessible to Copilot 365 enterprise customers, enabling seamless conversational adjustments without requiring users to exit Microsoft’s integrated AI environment. This strategic expansion follows the introduction of similar support for Photoshop, Acrobat, and Express within ChatGPT in December.
