Passionfroot, a German startup dedicated to establishing a marketplace that connects B2B creators with brands, announced on Wednesday that it has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round, spearheaded by Insight Partners.

Rebecca Liu-Doyle, Managing Director at Insight Partners, emphasized Passionfroot's strong market position, especially as creators increasingly specialize and AI-driven companies seek greater visibility.

Liu-Doyle elaborated on the platform's unique advantage, stating, "Passionfroot has the perfect dynamics on both sides to warrant a true marketplace for B2B creators. On the demand side, there is increasing consumerization of the way B2B brands go to market. That’s a product of, in part, AI technology requiring evangelism, narrative building and education. On the supply side, there are people who have real expertise, understand a market deeply, and want to create quality content." She conveyed this perspective during a conversation with TechCrunch.

This fresh capital will facilitate significant expansion, with Berlin-based co-founder and CEO Jen Phan relocating to New York to establish a new office, spearheading the growth of U.S. operations. Concurrently, Passionfroot plans to open an office in Sao Paulo and increase its current team of 15 employees.

Phan noted that as AI streamlines product development, businesses are increasingly leveraging creators to enhance brand recall and recognition.

"Every head of marketing or growth leader I’m talking to is saying really the same thing: AI is commoditizing software and flooding every category with new products, features, and launches. It’s incredibly crowded and noisy," Phan explained. "That is why B2B buyers are going to channels like LinkedIn, a creator’s Substack, or a podcast on YouTube to discover new products and tools."

Over the past year, Phan revealed that the company achieved a remarkable 13-fold increase in revenue and successfully brought on board prominent clients including ElevenLabs, Figma, Replit, Framer, and Gamma.

Since its previous funding round in 2024, Passionfroot has introduced an AI agent named Zest. This tool assists brands in creating, executing, and monitoring campaign performance. Furthermore, Passionfroot asserts that Zest can identify appropriate creators, both within and beyond its platform, to align with a company's specific marketing strategy.

The startup leverages a proprietary creator graph, which draws on reach and performance data from thousands of campaigns. It also provides an integrated wallet feature, enabling companies to pay creators globally and track their expenditures efficiently.

Passionfroot states it has disbursed at least $10 million to creators through its platform over the last 18 months.

Looking ahead, the company is developing tools to help clients measure the impact of campaigns on AI citations and their brand's visibility within AI-powered responses. Additionally, the startup plans to integrate AI features for creators, offering support with monetization strategies and content generation ideas.

This funding arrives at a time when other creator platforms, such as Substack and Beehiiv, are also enhancing monetization opportunities for their users. Recently, Beehiiv launched a new community and advertising marketplace, while Substack introduced subscriber-only perks within its newsletters.

The Series A round also saw continued support from existing investors, including Creandum, Supernode Global, and s16vc. To date, Passionfroot has successfully raised over $21 million.
