For ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers, the GPT-5.6 Sol model is undergoing an update to become "more reliable with facts," according to OpenAI. The company emphasizes that "The new GPT‑5.6 Sol is designed to make fewer mistakes — especially when answers depend on dates, numbers, sources, rules, or assumptions — by better using the sources it finds to answer your question." This updated Sol model will also deliver "more direct responses" with "tighter formatting," and ChatGPT will now "avoid extra detail when it does not help."
Additionally, Plus and Pro subscribers will gain access to a new slider feature, enabling them to precisely control "how much thought ChatGPT puts into an answer." Both the enhanced GPT-5.6 Sol model and this innovative slider will be made available starting this Thursday.
