Nvidia has unveiled a significant update to its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, integrated within the new Nvidia app beta. This update notably introduces a 6x Multi Frame Generation feature, specifically designed to enhance performance for RTX 50-series GPUs.

This latest iteration, DLSS 4.5, brings advanced AI-powered frame generation modes to supported GeForce RTX graphics cards. Available through the Nvidia app beta starting today, these upgrades are set to significantly boost both performance and visual fidelity across more than 20 popular gaming titles.

A primary highlight of DLSS 4.5 is its groundbreaking 6x Multi Frame Generation capability, exclusively for RTX 50-series GPU owners. Nvidia explains that this mode leverages its second-generation transformer AI model to produce “five additional frames for every single natively rendered one,” promising “minimal impact” on responsiveness. This marks a substantial increase from the maximum of three additional frames offered by the previous DLSS 4.

Distinct from the Multi Frame Generation is Dynamic Frame Generation, another innovative feature within this beta update. Nvidia likens this system to “an automatic transmission for your GPU,” enabling users to seamlessly transition between various Multi Frame Generation levels. The goal is to “strike the perfect balance between frame rate, image quality, and responsiveness.” Users have the flexibility to activate this feature manually for individual games or configure it for global application across all compatible titles via the Nvidia app’s Graphics tab.

Furthermore, a refined DLSS Frame Generation Model is now accessible for both GeForce RTX 40 Series and 50 Series users, specifically enhancing the clarity and appearance of in-game user interfaces, such as mini-maps and other display elements. The launch of the Nvidia app beta also coincides with new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution updates for ARC Raiders and Marvel Rivals, expanding the roster of supported games first announced by Nvidia at CES in January.
