Google is enhancing its AI capabilities, now enabling users with a Google AI Ultra subscription to transform their notes and research into personalized, fully animated videos. This marks a significant evolution in how information can be presented and consumed.

The innovative feature, integrated into Google’s NotebookLM, allows for the creation of "cinematic" videos directly from a user's research materials. This capability represents a substantial upgrade from the basic video overview feature that Google introduced last year, offering a more dynamic and engaging visual output.

While previous iterations of the video overview could only generate narrated slideshows, the enhanced system now leverages a sophisticated combination of Google's advanced AI models, including Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3. These models work in concert to produce animated visuals that directly correspond to the content of the user's notes. Google highlights that its Gemini model plays a crucial role in this process, meticulously determining the optimal narrative flow, visual style, and format, and even self-refining its work to ensure overall consistency throughout the generated videos.

This development is the latest in a series of strategic AI video advancements from Google. Last month saw significant updates to its Veo AI video model and expanded access to Flow, Google's dedicated AI video generation tool. Furthermore, Google recently showcased "Project Genie," another AI video generator, which a Verge reporter, Jay Peters, successfully utilized to create short, stylized clips reminiscent of Nintendo games.

The cinematic video overviews are now available within NotebookLM. However, access is currently restricted to users over 18 with a Google AI Ultra subscription and is limited to English-language content. Additionally, users are subject to a daily cap, allowing the generation of a maximum of 20 cinematic video overviews per day.
