Google brings NotebookLM Video and Audio Overviews to 80 languages

Google has expanded NotebookLM’s Video Overviews feature to support 80 languages, including French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, making it easier for global users to access learning tools in their native languages. Announced Monday, the update builds on last month’s launch of Video Overviews, which allowed users to turn notes, PDFs, and images into video presentations but was initially limited to English. The company also upgraded its Audio Overviews, which originally only offered full, detailed summaries in English while non-English versions were shorter and less comprehensive. With the new update, users worldwide can now receive more in-depth audio summaries in more than 80 languages. For those who prefer brevity, the option for shorter highlight-based overviews remains available. Google said the enhancements are designed to better serve NotebookLM’s growing international audience. By expanding beyond English, the platform ensures that learners can benefit from both video and audio summaries regardless of the language they speak, helping break down barriers for education and productivity. The rollout begins today and will be available globally within the next week, allowing more people to access NotebookLM’s improved video and audio capabilities.
