Google AI Edge Foresight utilizes an on-device model to process audio and notes without requiring an internet connection.
Google has released an experimental note-taking application capable of transcribing meetings and audio files entirely offline, as reported by TechCrunch. The tool, designated as Google AI Edge Foresight, is available for free and operates on macOS by leveraging the company's on-device EmbeddingGemma 2 model.
Much like competitors such as Granola and Wispr Flow, Foresight summarizes meetings while offering a space for personal note-taking. Google states that users can jot down shorthand bullet points during a call, and the application will convert these into "polished notes" using the transcript information.
In addition to transcription, Foresight features a built-in assistant for querying content heard during meetings. Users can also link local files to the app, which the system references to answer questions. Google emphasizes that user files, meeting audio, and notes "never leave your computer."
Google AI Edge Foresight is currently optimized exclusively for Macs equipped with Apple Silicon, distinguishing itself from other AI note-taking apps by its on-device processing capabilities.
