Mr. Musk formally commenced his testimony in the lawsuit he initiated against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and the company's President, Greg Brockman.
The trio were foundational members of OpenAI's initial team, with Musk contributing up to $38 million in early investments. However, the relationship between the co-founders deteriorated due to fundamental disagreements regarding the company's structure and mission, notably a proposal to integrate OpenAI into Musk's Tesla enterprise.
