Moving past a previous warning, Microsoft is taking a more aggressive stance on AI security. Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella previously advised assuming all models are "compromised," but Executive Vice President of Microsoft Security, Hayete Gallot, has gone further. Gallot stated, "Unfortunately, frontier models, regardless of their origin, cannot be trusted."

In response to this concern, Microsoft is unveiling Project Perception. The company is positioning this new initiative as a remedy to the security gaps in AI. Project Perception is an agentic security system specifically designed to assist cybersecurity professionals in securing and controlling AI agents.
