Meta is making a significant foray into the gaming sector with the introduction of its new application, Pocket. This innovative platform empowers users to generate compact, interactive applications and games using artificial intelligence prompts. The software, which stems from Meta's earlier acquisition of the team behind the vibe-coded gaming platform Gizmo, describes itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos,” referring to these interactive experiences. Furthermore, it features a navigable feed where users can explore and engage with gizmos created by others.

Upon examining screenshots of the app in Google Play, notable resemblances to Gizmo’s original application, which remains available, become apparent. Like Pocket, Gizmo also provided a mechanism for users to craft small, interactive experiences through written AI prompts and included a discovery feed for user-generated content.

The app's launch was initially brought to public attention this morning by Alessandro Paluzzi, a renowned reverse engineer and frequent discoverer of new applications and features, who shared a Play Store screenshot on X. However, data from the app intelligence provider Appfigures indicates that Pocket first became available on June 29, 2026, across both the App Store and Google Play. Due to its recent release, Appfigures is currently unable to provide download statistics.

Other prominent media outlets, including Business Insider and Investing.com, have also covered Paluzzi’s discovery. Meta has not yet issued a response to requests for comment regarding the new app.

Pocket serves as a further testament to Meta’s strategic drive to democratize AI creation tools. This initiative builds upon prior endeavors, which encompassed AI-generated images through its Meta AI app and AI videos produced with its Vibes application. The company has also integrated AI functionalities across its various social platforms and within its video-editing app tailored for creators, Edits.

Given the absence of an official announcement from Meta regarding Pocket’s debut, it is highly probable that the application is still operating within an initial experimental phase.

In contrast, its predecessor, Gizmo, had amassed a total of 635,000 lifetime installs across both iOS and Google Play, according to Appfigures, which also reported an impressive 98% positive user sentiment for the platform.
