Meta’s New AI Chatbot App Set to Launch in 2026

Meta is set to launch a dedicated app for its AI chatbot, as reported by CNBC, with confirmation from The Verge. This new app, expected to debut in the second quarter of 2025, aims to reach users beyond the confines of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.  In recent months, Meta has been making significant strides in the AI sector, competing with other major players like OpenAI and Google. The standalone app will join a growing roster of independent AI applications, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot. Currently, Meta's AI chatbot is integrated into several of its platforms, which include Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. The introduction of a standalone app is a strategic move designed to attract users who may not be active on Meta’s existing services.  The AI chatbot is equipped to perform a variety of tasks, including answering questions, generating images, and even editing photos.
