Meta’s AI agent has been updated to properly support the iPad’s larger screen and leverage recent improvements in multitasking capabilities.
Since launching nearly a month ago and spending several weeks at the top of Apple’s App Store, the latest update to Meta’s Muse iOS app introduces native support for the iPad. A Mac version of Meta’s agentic AI tool, designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Grok Bot, was released about a week after the original mobile version, expanding its usefulness to desktop tasks like organizing files. The new iPad version should function similarly to Muse on iPhones but will take better advantage of the extra screen real estate and iPadOS’s superior multitasking capabilities.
The newly added iPad support is limited to a brief mention at the bottom of the release notes for the latest version of Muse, alongside several updates for the iPhone. These include the ability to connect Muse to additional software tools like Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Zoom, Asana, and Klaviyo, as well as new connectors for apps like Granola and Notion. These updates specifically target small business owners by allowing them to set a business goal, which the agent uses to autonomously plan marketing, client pitches, and the development of "new product pages."
While it took Meta 15 years to release a dedicated version of Instagram for the iPad, the faster turnaround for Muse’s proper support of Apple’s tablets is a clear indicator of the company’s strong commitment to its AI initiatives. Meta also recently announced a standalone Tamagotchi-like device called the Muse Charm that will run the AI agent without the need for a smartphone, and the company is actively working to bring Muse to its smart glasses.
