The intense competition for AI chip dominance sees tech giants Microsoft, Meta, Google, and Nvidia locked in a fierce battle.

Meta has recently introduced its Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) 300 chip, specifically engineered to enhance the training of ranking and recommendation systems across its Instagram and Facebook platforms. Looking ahead, the company plans to roll out the MTIA 400, 450, and 500 series. While these forthcoming chips are described as “capable of handling all workloads,” Meta indicates their primary application will be for generative AI inference, a focus expected to extend from the near future through 2027.
