Meta has rolled out "Spaces," a fresh feature designed to enhance communication and collaboration with its latest generation of Muse agents—affectionate, agentic helpers.

These Spaces function as specialized, topic-focused breakout conversations, which Meta terms "custom experiences." Located within the sidebar of the agent interface, clicking a Space opens a dedicated chat where Muse works toward a specific objective.

Users can create Spaces for various projects, such as planning vacations, collecting recipes for family events, tracking holiday gifts, managing wedding logistics, or organizing DIY crafts.

Meta highlights the capability to initiate a Space by describing an idea in chat, allowing the agent to generate a tracker, planner, or project board automatically.

Furthermore, the Spaces can be seamlessly integrated with third-party applications and real-time data. The company notes that connecting these apps allows Spaces to update themselves in the background, displaying new concert dates, price fluctuations, or savings progress without manual prompts.

On X, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg shared his excitement about the new tool, stating, "Playing around with spaces in Muse lately — tell Muse what you need and it builds it. I’ve made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard. Excited to see what you build."

The Muse agents, along with their charming avatars, have garnered a positive response. During an October earnings call, Zuckerberg revealed that the agents had reached 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada within less than two months of their initial release.

This development marks a continued effort to refine the user experience around these agents. Spaces follows the recent debut of "Muse Voice," which enables users to video chat with their agent. Meta is also actively competing in the space of cute AI agents, facing rivals like OpenAI’s "dots" and SpaceX AI’s "Grokbot."
