Meta has unveiled Meta Small Business, a new, company-wide initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence, as reported by Axios on Wednesday.
In an internal memo to staff, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the enduring significance of small businesses to the company's operational framework. He noted that tens of millions of entrepreneurs currently leverage Meta's platforms to expand their ventures and connect with customers, signaling the company's intent to substantially increase its engagement in this sector.
“In the AI era, it should be easier than ever for people to build new businesses,” Zuckerberg articulated. “We want to build the services that enable this. This is important for ensuring that people broadly share in the prosperity created by superintelligence.”
According to Axios, the Meta Small Business initiative will be jointly spearheaded by Dina Powell McCormick, Meta President and Vice Chairman, and Naomi Gleit, head of product.
Zuckerberg has extended an invitation to product managers, designers, engineers, and other interested employees to express their desire to contribute to this pivotal new undertaking.
