Meta is enhancing Messenger with new features to make conversations clearer and more engaging. HD video calls, AI-powered noise suppression, and voice isolation are designed to improve call quality. These updates promise smoother communication whether you’re on Wi-Fi or cellular.
With this advancement, HD calls are now the default for Wi-Fi connections, with the option to enable them over cellular networks as well.
Another major update is the addition of voice and video messages. Users can now send a message when someone misses a call, essentially creating a digital voicemail. Simply tap the “Record message” button, and send your audio or video message to your contact.
Messenger is also adding Siri integration for iOS users. You can now ask Siri to send a message or make a call directly on Messenger without lifting a finger. Just say, “Hey Siri, send a message to [contact name] on Messenger,” and Siri will take care of the rest.
Apart from these innovations, Meta is also launching AI-generated backgrounds for video calls. Users can now access these by tapping the “effects” icon during a call and selecting “Backgrounds.” The AI backgrounds, first previewed earlier this year, give users more fun ways to customize their video chats.
These updates follow other recent additions to Messenger, including the introduction of Meta AI in the search bar, the ability to share large files, and making end-to-end encryption the default for all conversations.
With these new features, Messenger aims to make its app even more powerful and user-friendly, keeping up with the growing demands for high-quality, secure, and feature-rich communication tools.
