Lovable, the rapidly expanding Stockholm-based vibe-coding startup, and Google announced an extended multi-year collaboration on Wednesday. Having been a long-standing Google Cloud client, Lovable is set to significantly deepen its engagement under this new agreement.

While specific financial details were not disclosed by the companies, an individual familiar with the transaction informed TechCrunch that it entails a fivefold expansion of Lovable’s utilization of Google Cloud, encompassing increased AI usage. This source also indicated that the deal grants Lovable enhanced access to Anthropic’s Claude, an AI model widely recognized for coding applications, as well as Google's proprietary Gemini models.

The inclusion of Anthropic is particularly noteworthy. Google previously invested $10 billion in Anthropic in April, comprising both cash and compute credits, with a commitment for an additional $30 billion if certain performance milestones are met. This investment valued Anthropic at $350 billion, just a month before the company secured a remarkable $65 billion funding round, elevating its valuation to nearly $1 trillion. This partnership is expected to assist Anthropic in achieving its targets, given Lovable’s status as one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups on record. According to Lovable, it achieved $400 million in annualized revenue by February, adding $100 million in a single month with a lean team of only 146 employees. The company asserts that over half of Fortune 500 companies utilize its product in some capacity.

Furthermore, this agreement integrates Lovable into several other components of Google’s ecosystem. Lovable’s new agent will become available via Google Cloud’s enterprise agent marketplace, the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery—an arrangement initially foreshadowed by the two companies at Google’s major U.S. cloud conference in April. To bolster the security of code generated by both humans and agents, Lovable will also integrate with Wiz, Google’s largest acquisition to date at $32 billion, which officially concluded in March, a year after its initial announcement. This integration will empower Wiz to detect and rectify security vulnerabilities in real time.

By offering Lovable’s agents through Google’s marketplace, the cloud giant aims to streamline enterprise procurement and billing processes, thereby facilitating Lovable’s acquisition of more enterprise customers.

Google’s strategic rationale is straightforward. By fostering the growth of both Lovable and Anthropic through attracting large enterprise clients, the resulting revenue will help finance the $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures Google has earmarked for this year. The company is already in the process of a record-breaking $85 billion equity sale to cover a portion of these costs, leaving approximately another $100 billion to be funded.
