Google's AI models have significantly enhanced their coding capabilities, now surpassing the 50% mark reported last fall, according to a recent blog post from CEO Sundar Pichai.

To further accelerate this progress and narrow the gap with competitors, Google has established a specialized "strike team." This initiative aims to significantly enhance its AI's ability to generate code, especially in light of rivals like Anthropic, which, as of February, reports that its Claude Code is responsible for writing an impressive 70% to 90% of its own codebase.
