Google has announced that its AI video generator Veo is now available to more customers through a private preview on its Vertex AI platform. The AI video generator is designed to create high-quality short video clips from prompts and images.
Google said that it allow one customer, Quora, to integrate Veo with its Poe chatbot platform, and Mondelez Internationa, the Owner of Oreo, aims to use Veo for marketing purposes with agency partners.
Veo: High-quality AI Video Creation with Enhanced FeaturesVeo was unveiled in April this year. It generates videos up to six seconds long at 1080p resolution and supports cinematic styles, landscape shots, and time-lapse effects. The AI tool of the Vertex platform also offers masked editing features to optimize specific areas of generated videos.
Since it was revealed, Google has been trying to enhance Veo for enterprise readiness and optimize it for high-definition video creation in several aspect ratios. The senior director of product management of Google Cloud’s Warren Barkley said:
“ We tried significant improvements on Veo to meet enterprise demands, including better video quality and functionality. You can create high-quality videos in 720p as of today in 16:9 landscape or 9:16 portrait aspect ratios. We will improve the capabilities of Veo; similarly, we do it with other models such as Gemini on Vertex AI.”
Training and Risks of VeoThe following tool, Veo, was trained on complex datasets, but Google still needs to be more transparent about its data sources. They said that they include publicly available material and some YouTube content in compliance with agreements.
The following approach aligns with the industry trend of keeping training data sources private despite the potential risks of copyright infringement. For that, Google offers indemnity policies to protect eligible users against various legal claims, which reduces concerns about intellectual property violations.
