Users with the $4.99 AI Plus subscription are also facing the loss of access to Gemini Pro.

Starting October 9th, free Google Gemini users will be restricted to the Flash Lite model. Although free users can currently choose between Flash Lite, Flash, and Pro, the standard Flash model will now require a $4.99 monthly Google AI Plus subscription. Furthermore, this subscription is being downgraded, as Google AI Plus members will no longer have access to Gemini Pro. Google has stated that affected subscribers will receive an email notification regarding the change.

Following these updates, access to the top-tier Gemini Pro model and the "Deep Think" advanced reasoning option will be exclusive to users with a Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) or Google AI Ultra ($99.99/month) subscription.

Google notes that users will still be able to select low, medium, and high effort levels for each model, though utilizing higher effort levels may deplete your Gemini usage limit more rapidly.
