ProducerAI, an innovative AI-powered music creation platform, is officially integrating with Google. This strategic move will see Google incorporate ProducerAI under its Labs division, where it will be powered by a preview version of Google's advanced Lyria 3 music-making AI model.

The ProducerAI platform is designed to facilitate music production by allowing users to collaborate with an AI agent to generate sounds, refine lyrics, remix existing tracks, and even conceive new virtual instruments based on textual prompts. Launched in July 2025 as the successor to the AI music tool Riffusion, ProducerAI initially utilized its proprietary AI model for song generation and modification. Seth Forsgren, cofounder and CEO of ProducerAI, shared with The Verge that the team is “just scratching the surface of what these models are going to be able to do once we harness everything that Google brings to the table.”

Forsgren elaborated on the platform's interactive nature, stating, “You can talk to this producer like you would a Gemini model, ask questions, and learn about a new genre. As soon as you want to, you can start actually creating, and you can craft things with these instruments and make a song and iterate on it.”

Elias Roman, director of product management at Google Labs, highlighted a key differentiator for ProducerAI compared to other AI music platforms: its conversational agent. Roman explained, “It’s not a tool that you put in your prompt, roll the slot machine, and something will come out. The reality is that’s not how good music is made … and ProducerAI was really made for the back-and-forths that play out over time.”

Beyond leveraging Lyria 3 for music generation and Gemini for its chat interface, ProducerAI will also integrate Google’s Nano Banana for creating album art and Veo for generating AI-powered music videos. Roman noted the seamless coordination, saying, “All of these models are coordinated by your producer, so you just get to focus on what you want to create, and the model does the coordination for you.” Google will further enhance transparency by embedding its SynthID watermark into all ProducerAI outputs, indicating AI-generated text, videos, images, and audio.

The development of ProducerAI has involved collaborations with notable artists such as The Chainsmokers, Lecrae, and Anjulie. While the music industry has begun to embrace AI tools for song creation—with platforms like ElevenLabs, Udio, and Suno gaining traction—many artists have voiced concerns regarding AI clones. This sentiment has led to actions such as Bandcamp prohibiting AI-generated music and Deezer developing technology to detect and deprioritize it.

A press release included a statement from Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers, expressing the duo’s gratitude “to see how ProducerAI evolves,” adding that “It’s truly crafted around the musician’s experience.”

ProducerAI is set to operate as a standalone service within Google Labs, expanding Google’s growing suite of AI tools. This follows Google’s recent integration of Lyria 3 into the Gemini app, enabling users to generate 30-second tracks from text, image, and video prompts.

Users can access ProducerAI for free with a limited number of credits. Additionally, a starter plan is available for $8 per month, providing 3,000 credits, sufficient for approximately 600 songs. Higher tiers include a $24 per month Plus subscription and a $64 per month Member subscription, offering increased music generation capabilities. ProducerAI is currently accessible in over 250 countries and can be tried now via its website on both desktop and mobile devices.
