Google Gemini Could Soon Generate AI Videos, Leak Reveals
A new leak hints that Google Gemini might soon create AI videos using advanced tools like Veo 2, expanding beyond image generation.

Google is reportedly testing AI video creation capabilities for its Gemini app, suggesting that users might soon generate realistic videos from simple text prompts. According to Android Authority, tech tipster AssembleDebug uncovered hidden code in the latest Google app update that points to this new feature.
References to video generation, marked by code snippets like “Working ……” and “We will notify you when it’s ready,” hint that Google is experimenting with adding video tools to Gemini. Although no official release has been announced, these clues suggest exciting updates may be on the horizon.
One major possibility is that Google could integrate Veo 2, its powerful text-to-video and image-to-video AI model developed by DeepMind. Veo 2, currently in early access through Google Labs’ VideoFX, can produce high-quality, realistic video clips based on text inputs or uploaded images.
If integrated into Gemini, this would significantly expand its creative capabilities, which currently include generating still images using Google’s Imagen 3 model. While high-quality AI video creation typically requires heavy computing power and is often part of premium services, Google’s move could make such features more accessible.
Another potential approach could involve a simplified version of Veo 2 or a different AI tool entirely, like Google Vids. Available through Google Workspace, Google Vids focuses on creating business content, such as presentations and promotional videos, using AI-driven templates, stock media, and voice synthesis. However, since Google Vids is tailored for professional use, it might not align perfectly with Gemini’s broader consumer audience.
Though Google has not confirmed these features, the hidden code hints at Gemini’s evolving capabilities. If the AI video generation tools roll out, it could position Gemini as a major player in AI creativity, competing with existing text-to-video services and expanding its user base.
