For Gemini API users, grounding comes at a cost of $35 per 1,000 queries, but the payoff is more accurate, up-to-date responses. Moreover, AI Studio's new "compare mode" shows how grounded answers differ from those based on the model’s internal data. Grounding also helps prevent AI hallucinations by linking to verifiable sources. With this new feature, developers can customize when and how to use grounding. They can either enable it for every prompt or adjust settings for more specific use cases. Additionally, Google now includes source links in grounded responses, giving users the ability to verify the information directly.
