After a period of dormancy, Grokipedia is once again displaying signs of activity.
Grokipedia, the AI-driven online encyclopedia managed by SpaceXAI, appears to be processing article revisions again following a hiatus that lasted several months. In August, Lawfare reported that edits on Grokipedia had not been reviewed since April, yet the platform’s live updates site is now showing recent changes to pages, although many currently display a note that says “recheck all references and sources.”
The site seems to have become active again relatively recently. The page for former President Barack Obama carries a note that it was “Fact-checked by Grok” two days ago, and the page for Elon Musk was being fact-checked within the last hour while the article was being written. However, the page for Honolulu, accessed from Obama’s page, was last fact-checked seven months ago, suggesting that not every page has received a recent scan.
During the writing of this article, an update to the "Gears of War: E-Day" page was suggested to note the game's October 6th release date, and Grokipedia accepted the suggestion. Additionally, a request for an article about Meta’s Muse chatbot was submitted and is currently listed as “In Review.”
SpaceXAI did not immediately reply to a request for comment, and Elon Musk has not posted on X about Grokipedia since February. (Musk claimed about a year ago that Grokipedia would be “a massive improvement over Wikipedia.”) However, Benji Taylor, the head of design at X and SpaceXAI, posted last week about Grokipedia, stating that “We haven't forgotten about Grokipedia” and that “v0.2 will be better than ever” (even though version 0.2 technically launched in November).
