Recognizing that industry competitors have not adopted its proprietary technology, Deezer is now making its advanced detection capabilities directly accessible to the public.

Deezer is launching a new feature that allows users to scan their playlists across various streaming platforms to identify AI-generated music. The company pioneered the labeling of AI-created tracks among major streaming services and subsequently offered its detection technology to other platforms; however, uptake has been limited. While Qobuz developed its own detection system, industry giants Apple and Spotify have chosen a voluntary artist-tagging approach for AI content.

In a recent press release, Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier stated, "No other company has followed our lead yet, so we decided to make it possible for everyone to check if their playlists include synthetic music, no matter which streaming platform they use." This initiative underscores Deezer's strategy to directly empower users with its AI detection capabilities, given the limited adoption of its licensing offers by other industry players.

The process is straightforward: users navigate to Deezer’s dedicated AI music detector website, select their preferred streaming service, and grant Deezer the necessary permissions for access. This tool boasts compatibility with 20 different platforms, notably including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube Music. Deezer will then import the user's playlists, a function likely powered by Tune My Music, a service the company already utilizes for library transfers from competing platforms. Subsequently, Deezer will scan these imported playlists for AI-generated content, notify users of any detected instances, and provide an option to share the findings.
