CUDIS, an innovative wearables startup, is set to introduce its latest generation of health rings this week. This advanced wearable device integrates a suite of features, notably an AI “agent coach” meticulously designed to guide users in achieving their personalized fitness objectives.

What distinguishes CUDIS from other wearable technologies, according to the company, is its dual approach: not only does it provide comprehensive health metrics, but it also actively encourages healthy habits through an innovative points-based reward system. Users accumulate digital “health points” by engaging in beneficial activities such as consistent daily sleep, reaching 10,000 steps, participating in sports, and interacting with the ring’s AI coach. These accumulated points can subsequently be exchanged within an integrated marketplace for discounts on health supplements and various other products.

The ring’s integrated AI Agent Coach harnesses the power of generative AI to develop personalized programs for exercise and overall daily well-being. The company highlights that this agent crafts bespoke plans encompassing “daily tasks, recovery protocols, supplement recommendations, and direct referrals to licensed medical professionals,” ensuring a holistic approach to user health.

Beyond coaching, the ring diligently monitors a wide array of physiological metrics and daily behaviors, including sleep quality, stress management, physical movement, and recovery patterns. This data empowers users to understand how these factors influence their Pace of Aging (PoA), providing insights into whether their biological age is progressing faster or slower than their chronological age, as detailed by CUDIS.

Edison Chen, CEO and co-founder of CUDIS, informed TechCrunch that since the introduction of the company’s initial wearable in 2024, CUDIS has successfully sold more than 30,000 units across its first two product iterations. He further noted the substantial expansion of the app’s user base, which now stands at 250,000 users spanning 103 countries globally.

“Our strongest markets so far have been North America, Europe, and Asia,” Chen stated, emphasizing the company’s global reach. He further elaborated to TechCrunch, “What we’re good at is pattern recognition for healthy people trying to optimize,” highlighting CUDIS’s core competency in proactive health management.

Chen further explained the AI’s proactive capabilities: “The AI spots when you’re trending in the wrong direction, such as chronic poor sleep, declining HRV, elevated resting heart rate, and either suggests lifestyle changes or connects you to a professional. The control is in the escalation pathway to the right care access,” underscoring the system’s ability to guide users towards appropriate interventions.

CUDIS asserts that it maintains user data encryption and security through the Solana blockchain, aligning with its prior characterization as a “web3 AI wellness company.” It should be noted that TechCrunch was unable to directly test the smart ring to independently verify these security claims.

In 2024, CUDIS successfully secured $5 million in seed funding. This round was spearheaded by Draper Associates and saw participation from several other investors, notably including blockchain-focused groups such as Skybridge, DraperDragon, Monke Ventures, and Foresight Ventures. Looking ahead, the company also intends to initiate a Kickstarter campaign in the near future.
