Anthropic has announced the rollout of new app connectors, now accessible to all Claude users. The company further noted that mobile functionality for these connectors is currently in beta.
These innovative connectors significantly broaden Claude's utility, enabling users to integrate Anthropic’s AI with a wider array of applications, spanning from outdoor activities like hiking to daily tasks such as grocery shopping. While Claude previously supported integrations with numerous work-related applications, including Microsoft apps, this latest expansion is specifically tailored to enhance personal use cases, featuring popular services like Audible, Spotify, Uber, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Instacart, and TurboTax, among others.
It's worth noting that some of these integrated applications, such as Spotify, already feature similar connector functionalities within OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Upon connecting an app, Claude will intelligently suggest relevant connected services directly within ongoing conversations—for instance, recommending AllTrails for hiking suggestions. Anthropic underscored its commitment to user privacy in its blog post announcing these connectors, stating: “Your data from [connected apps] isn’t used to train our models, and the app doesn’t see your other conversations with Claude. You can also disconnect it at any time.”
Furthermore, Anthropic explicitly stated that “there are no paid placements or sponsored answers in conversations with Claude,” ensuring unbiased recommendations. When multiple connected applications are relevant to a query, Claude will present results from each, meticulously “ranked by what’s most useful” to the user. Crucially, Claude will always prompt users for verification before proceeding with any action, such as making a purchase or reservation via a connected app, thereby maintaining user control.
These new connectors are immediately accessible across all Claude plans. Users can conveniently browse or add applications by navigating to the “customize” tab on the Claude sidebar and selecting “connectors.”
