This update to ChatGPT's deep research tool includes a dedicated full-screen viewer, designed to facilitate seamless scrolling and navigation through its AI-generated reports. As demonstrated in a video released by OpenAI, this integrated viewer allows users to open reports in a separate window from their main chat interface, presenting a table of contents on the left side of the screen and a comprehensive list of sources on the right.
The deep research capability, originally launched by OpenAI last year, empowers ChatGPT to conduct extensive web searches and compile detailed reports on user-specified topics. With this latest iteration, users gain the added flexibility to direct ChatGPT's research to focus on particular websites and connected applications, refining the scope of information gathering.
Users can now also monitor ChatGPT’s research progress in real-time, with options to modify the research scope or integrate additional sources while the report is being generated. Upon completion, the finalized report can be conveniently downloaded from the new viewer in multiple formats, including Markdown, Word, and PDF.
