BrightAI Shines Bright: From Physical AI Startup to $80M Revenue
Originally reported bytechcrunch
BrightAI was founded by Alex Hawkinson in 2019, and a team of visionaries introduced a game-changer in infrastructure management. After leaving SmartTings, Hawkinson first focused on using IoT to identify critical infrastructure inefficiencies.  When the pandemic hit in 2020, Hawkinson said, "The pandemic provided a moment of reflection, highlighting the critical services that modern life relies on, many of which are surprisingly outdated." The company combines sensors and AI algorithms to monitor your physical assets, predict potential issues, and enable proactive measures.  For example, “pest control company Pelsis employs BrightAI’s sensors to remotely monitor light traps in facilities, allowing timely intervention based on real-time data.”  This enables continuous, precise monitoring, reduces human dependency, and improves operational efficiency.  The IoT company BrightAI is now working with 7 large enterprise customers across 6 verticals, including HVAC, waste management, and power. It has deployed over 250,000 sensors and achieved $80 million in revenue without external funding. Today, the company announced a $15 million seed round from Upfront Ventures to fuel its next growth phase. These funds will increase the company's tech capabilities and focus on using collected sensor data to enhance field worker effectiveness.  Sensorita and WaveLogix focus on specific sectors, but BrightAI adopts a broader approach. The CEO, Hawkinson, believes that this strategy will definitely maximize its market potential and impact.  BrightAI is an innovative company that ensures scalability across industries. Its services range from optimizing pest control to lowering operating costs by targeting maintenance needs.
