Attie, a groundbreaking AI assistant, is poised to revolutionize application development for the AT Protocol, eventually enabling users to intuitively "vibe code" entire apps.
Unveiled by the team behind Bluesky at the recent Atmosphere conference, Attie is an innovative AI assistant designed to empower users in crafting their own algorithms. Bluesky’s former CEO, Jay Graber, and CTO Paul Frazee, presented Attie, highlighting its foundation on Anthropic’s Claude AI and its integration with Bluesky’s underlying AT Protocol (atproto).
Initially, Attie facilitates the creation of personalized content feeds through natural language commands. Users can, for instance, request "posts about folklore, mythology, and traditional music, especially Celtic traditions." While these bespoke feeds will first be accessible within a dedicated Attie application, plans are in motion to extend their availability to Bluesky and other atproto-compatible apps.
However, custom feeds represent merely the initial phase of Attie’s capabilities. The long-term vision allows users to leverage Attie for "vibe coding" their own applications directly on the atproto platform. As Jay Graber articulated in a blog post:
"We built the AT Protocol so anyone could build any app they imagine on top of it, but until recently ‘anyone’ really meant ‘anyone who code.’ Agentic coding tools change that. For the first time, an open protocol can be genuinely open to everyone. It’s increasingly possible to personalize software with no coding experience at all. The Atmosphere is an open data layer with a clearly defined schema for applications, which makes it uniquely well-suited for coding agents to build on."
Currently, Attie is in a closed beta phase. Interested individuals can join the waiting list by visiting attie.ai.
