The new AI assistant enables users to draft and restructure content within Pages, while also organizing and calculating data in Numbers.
Apple is expanding its suite of productivity applications—including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers—by introducing an AI assistant. Powered by a combination of Apple's proprietary models and OpenAI technology, this tool understands document context to handle complex tasks such as designing, animating, and refining slides in Keynote.
In Pages, the assistant assists with drafting, restructuring, and refining written text. Simultaneously, in Numbers, it calculates, visualizes, and organizes data, offering smart suggestions for chart types and the creation of custom tables.
Keynote, Pages, and Numbers now support the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, facilitating the integration of third-party AI agents. This feature is currently rolling out in beta to devices compatible with Apple Intelligence, including those running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27.
The rollout extends to other creative applications with Pixelmator Pro introducing a Generate Fill feature. This allows users to edit specific parts of an image by describing the desired changes, with the AI automatically matching surrounding lighting, perspective, and texture for seamless results.
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad is receiving a Liquid Glass redesign alongside an AI assistant capable of setting up vocal tracks from a single prompt and editing existing projects. Additionally, the Mac Browser has been redesigned to utilize on-device AI for the automatic analysis, classification, and tagging of added sounds.
The update to Final Cut Pro introduces MotionVFX templates, graphics, titles, and transitions directly into the interface. Furthermore, Apple is building a Content Hub directly into the software, providing a library of stock videos, photos, and backgrounds. These updates to the Creator’s Studio will be available for free to existing subscribers starting in November.
