Anthropic introduced its new enterprise agents program on Tuesday, marking its most ambitious initiative to date for integrating agentic AI into daily workplace operations.
During an official briefing, Kate Jensen, Anthropic’s head of Americas, informed reporters that this innovative system is poised to finally fulfill the long-held promise of agentic AI. "2025 was meant to be the year agents transformed the enterprise, but the hype turned out to be mostly premature," Jensen stated. "It wasn’t a failure of effort. It was a failure of approach."
Through this new program, organizations can leverage a robust plug-in system to deploy pre-built agents designed to assist with prevalent enterprise tasks, such as conducting financial research and compiling engineering specifications. This presents a significant opportunity for Anthropic to expand its enterprise client base, while simultaneously posing a considerable challenge to existing SaaS products that currently perform these functions.
“We believe that the future of work means everybody having their own custom agent,” Anthropic product officer Matt Piccolella conveyed to TechCrunch, outlining a vision of personalized AI assistance.
The enterprise agents program largely builds upon previously announced technologies, notably Claude Cowork and the plugin system, which was initially introduced as a research preview on January 30th. The systems launched today are primarily focused on streamlining the deployment of these tools within corporate environments, incorporating features like private software marketplaces, controlled data flows, and customized plugins. The outcome is a sophisticated system enabling the deployment of Claude-powered agents with the same level of control and oversight that a corporate IT department would expect for any software implementation.
“Admins want to be able to have really, really, really tailored workflows and skills for their specific organization,” Piccolella explained. “And this allows the admin of a Claude Cowork organization to be able to do this in a very centralized way.”
The standard plugins available at launch are tailored to address specific departments commonly found within most companies, including agents designed for finance, legal, and human resources. While each plugin comes equipped with fundamental skills applicable across various companies, Anthropic anticipates that organizations will customize them to align with their unique operational needs and practices.
For instance, the finance stock plugin furnishes Claude with the essential information and data flows required for tasks such as market and competitive research, financial modeling, and other routine activities for finance teams. Similarly, the HR plugin incorporates skills for generating job descriptions, developing onboarding materials, and drafting offer letters, among other capabilities.
The launch also introduces a suite of new enterprise connectors, featuring integrations with platforms like Gmail, DocuSign, and Clay. These previously unavailable connectors will empower agents to directly retrieve data and context from their respective linked systems, enhancing their operational effectiveness.
