The company referred to this initiative as "Project Deal," acknowledging its status as "a pilot experiment with a self-selected participant pool." This pool comprised 69 Anthropic employees, each allocated a $100 budget, disbursed via gift cards, to purchase items from their colleagues.
Despite its pilot nature, Anthropic expressed being "struck by how well Project Deal worked." The experiment yielded impressive results, with 186 deals successfully concluded, accumulating a total value exceeding $4,000.
The company revealed that the experiment involved the operation of four distinct marketplaces, each employing different AI models.
