Claude Duet is Anthropic’s new agent designed for professionals and small business owners, currently launching as a research preview.
Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, an AI agent positioned as a competitor to Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots. This new tool, available as a standalone app on iOS and Android and via the Claude web interface, targets professionals and small business owners.
The AI agent functions on the foundation of Claude Opus 5.5. Anthropic outlines its capabilities, stating: "Each morning, it sends you a short brief on the most important items across your connected apps. Throughout the day, it keeps tabs on those apps and messages you only when something needs your attention. You can also hand it tasks of all shapes—from simple administrative tasks of scheduling meetings to more complex ones, such as building dashboards with dozens of tools, creating financial or sales forecasts, prototyping, and building web apps."
Claude Duet integrates memory, skills, and connected apps from the base Claude model and utilizes a virtual machine equipped with a browser to perform work. To ensure safety, the system requires user approval for significant actions, such as sending payments or deleting data. Furthermore, to handle sensitive information, Duet employs a "new dedicated classifier and safety system prompt" that is "designed to reject requests to share the strictest tier of information," including credit card numbers.
Anthropic notes that Claude Duet is currently an "early version" and acknowledges potential issues like the system "still might misread a thread or miscalibrate what’s urgent." Additionally, the agent admits it is "not as strong" at executing personal errands like booking tickets.
To try Claude Duet, interested users can join the waitlist, though access is currently restricted to Pro or Max subscribers in the United States.
