The Danziger Gallery recently showcased and offered for sale a rendition of "Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico" at the Association of International Photography Art Dealers’ Photography Show. This action prompted a swift response from the trust overseeing the artist's legacy, which formally demanded the photograph's removal. In a subsequent statement, the trust accused gallery owner James Danziger of leveraging the renowned Ansel Adams name to advance his personal venture in AI-driven colorization.

The trust sharply criticized the gallery's conduct, asserting: "No one should trade on another person’s name, reputation, and labor for private commercial ends without consent and candor. The unauthorized exploitation of Ansel’s actively stewarded legacy reflects a gross failure of ethical and professional judgment."
