Accounts like OtakuRockU reported receiving warnings for images that featured Mario, while PoyoSilly revealed an edited version of a flagged drawing where the original Mario character was obscured by a doll resembling the iconic plumber.
This aggressive stance mirrors Nintendo’s past legal battles, such as its high-profile lawsuit against Yuzu, a Nintendo Switch emulator, and its ongoing case against the creators of the Pokémon-like game Palworld. The company’s use of third-party enforcement tools has previously led to accusations of copyright trolling, as seen with notices related to Nintendo content in Garry’s Mod.
