YouTube has officially rolled out its multi-language audio feature to all creators, ending a two-year pilot program. The new tool allows millions of YouTubers to dub their videos in multiple languages, helping them connect with broader international audiences. The rollout will take place over the coming weeks.
Originally introduced in 2023 to a limited number of creators like MrBeast, Mark Rober, and chef Jamie Oliver, the feature initially required outside dubbing services. More recently, YouTube introduced an AI-powered auto-dubbing tool that uses Google’s Gemini technology to mimic a creator’s tone and emotions, making translations sound more natural.
Early results from pilot users have been promising. According to YouTube, creators who added multi-language audio tracks saw more than 25% of their watch time come from non-primary language viewers. Jamie Oliver’s channel even tripled its views after adopting the feature, highlighting its potential to boost engagement worldwide.
In addition to dubbing, YouTube has been testing multi-language thumbnails since June. A select group of creators has been able to design thumbnails that display text in viewers’ preferred languages, making video previews more accessible and personalized for global audiences.
With these updates, YouTube is giving creators new tools to grow internationally, removing language barriers that once limited reach. The multi-language audio feature, backed by AI dubbing, is expected to become a powerful way for channels of all sizes to expand their influence beyond their native language markets.
