Uber Launches AI Chatbot To Answer Driver’s EV Questions
Uber launches a smart AI chatbot to help electric vehicle drivers with all their EV questions, making greener driving easier than ever!

Originally reported bytechcrunch
On Tuesday, during the Go-Get event in London, Uber launched its innovative AI chatbot designed to assist electric vehicle drivers. This new tool aims to provide quick answers to all EV-related questions, enhancing the driving experience for users and promoting smoother journeys in the electric vehicle landscape.
Initially, the assistant will focus on answering questions about electric vehicles, such as where to charge them and which models to consider. However, Uber plans to expand its capabilities in the future.
This integration uses OpenAI's advanced model, which is leveraged with human-like conversations and understands text, audio, and visuals.
Drivers can easily access Uber's AI assistant right from the home screen of the Uber driver app. This chatbot will continuously receive updates and provide personalized answers based on each driver’s needs, their city, and available government incentives.
Soon, drivers will not only send text questions but will also be able to speak directly to the chatbot, which will respond audibly. The supported languages for the AI assistant will be revealed closer to launch; however, OpenAI's technology can handle over 50 languages.
Additionally, Uber is launching an ‘EV mentorship program.’ Experienced drivers with high ratings can earn cash rewards and other incentives by mentoring those interested in the EV experience.
The company also announced exciting updates focused on electric vehicles and climate initiatives. The company revealed new features to make it easier for riders and drivers to choose EVs.
Uber Green will now include an EV-only option in 40 cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, and Paris, expanding access to hybrid and electric rides in over 180 markets. Riders can also set preferences in the Uber app to be matched with nearby EVs.
