Samsung Introduces Galaxy A56 with Enhanced AI Features and Design Tweaks

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, bringing enhanced AI-powered features and subtle design changes to its budget-friendly smartphone lineup. The company is focusing on AI-driven image editing, introducing features like Best Face, which allows users to swap facial expressions in motion photos, similar to Google Pixel’s Best Take. Other notable AI tools include an improved object removal tool and Google’s Circle to Search, enabling quick searches by circling text or images on the screen.

In terms of design, Samsung has made slight modifications, including an oval-shaped camera housing and a uniform 6.7-inch Full HD Plus display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate across all three models. The Galaxy A56 maintains a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro camera. However, its selfie camera has been downgraded to 12MP from the A55’s 32MP. The upgraded Exynos 1580 chip powers the phone, while the A36 runs on the previous-generation Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.

Battery life remains intense with a 5,000 mAh capacity on all models, though only the A56 and A36 support 45W fast charging. Samsung has also improved performance by incorporating a larger vapor chamber for better cooling. Additionally, the A26 now features IP67 dust and water resistance for the first time.

The new A-series phones will launch with Android 15 and receive up to six years of OS and security updates. Pricing starts at $499 for the A56, $399 for the A36 (Best Buy exclusive), and $299 for the A26. The UK launch is set for March 19th, while the A36 and A26 will debut in the US on March 26th and March 28th, respectively.
