Apple Unveils iOS 18.2 Beta with New AI Features—But Some Are Waitlisted

Apple has launched the iOS 18.2 public beta, featuring exciting new AI tools for iPhones. This update includes the AI emoji generator Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration with Siri, and Visual Intelligence, allowing iPhone 16 cameras to identify real-world objects.

These new AI features, collectively known as Apple Intelligence, promise smarter Siri capabilities, better writing assistance, and advanced image creation tools.

However, not all of these tools are immediately available to everyone. Some require users to join a waitlist to gain access, particularly for image generation features.

The new update gives Siri an upgrade with the ChatGPT extension, letting users ask Siri to write text, create images, answer questions, and more. iPhone 16 users can also use the Camera Control button to activate Visual Intelligence, helping them identify objects and locations through the camera.

While iOS 18.2 opens up these advanced AI features to public beta testers, Apple has made it clear that some features will need to be unlocked through a waitlist. This decision aims to ensure safety and allow Apple to scale the tools gradually.

Along with iOS 18.2, Apple also released public betas for iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2, and tvOS 18.2.

As Apple continues to roll out these advanced AI features, users can expect more enhancements in future updates. Stay tuned with AIChief  for further advancements across Apple’s ecosystem.
