Anthropic, an AI company, is preparing to roll out a new “two-way” voice mode for its chatbot, Claude. This mode will allow for more interactive and dynamic conversations between users and Claude.
Additionally, the company plans to introduce a memory feature that will enable Claude to retain more information about users and previous interactions. The goal is to make the chatbot smarter and more responsive, providing a more personalized experience for users.
The announcement came from Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, during a conversation with The Wall Street Journal at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He emphasized that these features are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its AI models, with the expectation of releasing even more advanced versions in the coming months. The CEO also shared that the company had been “overwhelmed” by the surge in demand for its products in the past year, particularly in the last quarter.
This growing demand has posed a challenge for the company, which has struggled to keep up with the necessary computational resources to meet the needs of its users.
Despite the challenges, Amodei expressed confidence in Anthropic’s ability to continue advancing its technology and meeting market needs.
Anthropic is racing to compete with its chief rival, OpenAI, in the rapidly expanding and capital-intensive AI sector. The company has raised $13.7 billion so far but reportedly lost billions of dollars last year.
In light of this, Anthropic is in talks to raise approximately $2 billion more at a valuation of $60 billion. The company’s efforts reflect the growing competition in the AI field, as businesses race to develop the most advanced and capable models.
